Beautiful scenery plus mini shops along the way, this is the Confederation Bridge which was built in 1993.

The confederation bridge was considered a world engineering masterpiece. It took 4 years to build, and currently takes approx. 10 minutes to cross. This bridge connects Prince Edward Island to the Mainland. When tourists or Islanders leave the Island, bridge tolls are collected at $47.00 for vehicles and $18.75 for bikes.

Since the Confederation Bridge will most likely be the first attraction you see, there are many places to visit right after you arrive off the bridge.

Gateway Factory Outlet

This outlet right off the Confederation Bridge contains lots of shops, eateries, and information centres. Some popular areas in the outlet include Cows Ice Cream, Island Stoneware, Shop & Play: Dress up as Anne, Flavour Mountain, PEI Dirtshirt, Handpie Company (delicious food made up of fresh and local products: Red Seal Chef), and PEI Liquor. Most of these shops are closed during the winter months, but of course, summer is the best time to visit PEI.

About Me

I am Moriah Burden and I am in 2nd year Public Relations at MSVU. I wasn't sure what to expect of the PR program at first but I have realized I absolutely love it and am eager to start my first co-op internship this summer. I decided to create this website as a tourism website all about Prince Edward Island, because this is where I grew up:)
